摘要：Ophthalmic compositions, such as those used to care for contact lenses,methods of preserving such compositions, and methods for disinfecting contact lensesusing such compositions are disclosed. The compositions may comprise an ophthalmicallyacceptable, liquid aqueous medium and, included therein, an effective preserving ordisinfecting amount of an ophthalmically acceptable quaternary ammonium substitutedmatrix material, the matrix material being selected from the group consisting ofproteinaceous materials, carbohydrate materials and mixtures thereof.
