My Best Friend Jenny's Typical Day

Hey there! I'm going to tell you all about my awesome best friend Jenny and what her daily routine is like. Jenny is super cool and we've been inseparable ever since we met in first grade. Even though we're in 7th grade now, we're still as close as ever. Jenny's days always start bright and early at 6:30am when her mom comes into her bedroom to wake her up. I know, that seems crazy early, right? But Jenny is such a morning person and loves getting an early start to her day. Once she's up, she heads to the bathroom to brush her teeth and get ready. She has to be out the door by 7:15am to catch the school bus.

The bus arrives at our middle school at 7:45am, giving Jenny and me a good 30 minutes before our first class at 8:15am. We usually spend that time hanging out in the cafeteria, grabbing a quick breakfast like a muffin or granola bar. Sometimes we'll even crack open our books and do a little last-minute studying too. Yeah, I know we're huge nerds!

Our first few classes of the day are always the toughest - maths, science, English lit. Those require us to be totally focused and on our game. Jenny is crazy smart though, so she doesn't even have to try that hard. She just breezes through while I'm over here struggling! At 11am we finally get a break for lunch and recess.

Lunchtime is when we really get to let loose and have fun. We usually find a spot out on the field with our other friends and gossip about everything under the sun - who's dating who, which teachers are the meanest, you name it. Sometimes we'll even toss around a frisbee or kick a soccer ball if the weather is nice. Those little bursts of activity help re-energize us for the rest of the day.

After lunch it's time for our artistic and language classes like art, Spanish, music, etc. Those are definitely more of Jenny's strong suits compared to me. She's crazy talented when it comes to drawing, painting, singing...pretty much any creative pursuit you can think of. I'm always in awe of her abilities and a little jealous if I'm being totally honest!

Finally, at 3pm the bell rings and we're free for the day! Unless we have extracurricular activities or sports practice, we'll usually just head straight home. Jenny lives just a few blocks

away from me, so we often walk home together chatting about our day.

Once home, we both have a couple of hours of free time in the afternoons. I'll typically veg out in front of the TV or play video games to unwind from school. But not Jenny - she's absolutely OBSESSED with K-pop music and dancing! She'll spend hours watching music videos, learning the choreography, and practicing the moves. I've tried joining in before and man, that stuff is no joke! I don't know how she has so much energy and stamina.

Around 6pm, Jenny's mom will call her down for dinner. They always seem to eat healthy, well-balanced meals as a family. Lots of lean proteins, veggies, whole grains...you know, the good stuff. My family could definitely take some lessons from them in that department! After dinner, it's finally time to crack open the books again and get started on homework.

Now I'll admit, this is probably my least favorite part of the day. But Jenny being Jenny, she doesn't even mind it that much. We'll usually FaceTime each other and work on our assignments together, helping one another when we get stuck. I swear, without Jenny's tutoring, I'd probably be failing most of my

classes. She makes even the most complicated maths problems seem like a breeze.

Finally, around 9pm, we'll wrap up studying for the night. If it's a school night, Jenny has to be in bed by 9:30pm to get enough sleep. I know, I know...pretty early bedtime. But she doesn't even argue about it since she understands how

important it is for growing kids to get enough shut-eye. Let's just say my parents have a much harder time enforcing a strict bedtime with me!

Well, there you have it - a full day in the life of my bestie Jenny! She definitely keeps herself busy, but I admire her drive, talent, and discipline so much. I don't know where I'd be without such an incredible friend to lean on and look up to. Here's to many more days like this with my girl!

My Best Friend Jenny's Typical Day

Hey there! I'm going to tell you all about my best friend Jenny and what her daily routine is like. Jenny is 13 years old and we're in 7th grade together at Central Middle School. She's one of the nicest, funniest, and smartest people I know. I've been friends with her since we were little kids in kindergarten. Even

though we've known each other for so long, her life is always an adventure and pretty fascinating if you ask me!

Jenny's days always start super early since she's definitely a morning person, unlike me. Her mom usually wakes her up around 6:00am during the school week. Jenny likes getting up before the rest of her family so she can have some peace and quiet to herself for a little while. The first thing she does is make her bed and tidy up her room a bit. Then she heads to the bathroom to brush her teeth and get ready for the day. While she's getting dressed, Jenny always has her phone playing her favorite pop music playlist. She has to be careful not to sing too loudly though or she'll wake up her little brother Max. After she's dressed, she'll spend a few minutes on her hair and just a little bit of makeup like some mascara and lip gloss. Jenny says she doesn't like caking it on since she's still pretty young. I think she looks great without a lot of makeup anyway.

Next up is breakfast, which is Jenny's favorite meal of the day. Her mom makes her delicious things like pancakes, omelettes, or oatmeal. Sometimes her dad cooks too and makes amazing french toast. No matter what's for breakfast, Jenny always has a huge glass of orange juice as well. She says it gives her lots of energy to start her day right.

Jenny has to be out the door by 7:15am to leave for school. We've actually been taking the bus together since 2nd grade. During the 20 minute bus ride, Jenny and I always play games on our phones to pass the time. Sometimes we do multiplication flashcards or study vocab words too though, especially if we have any big tests coming up that we need to prepare for. School starts at 7:45am sharp for us. Jenny's favourite subjects are English literature and art. She's just brilliant when it comes to writing creative stories and poetry. She really has a gift with words. And her drawings are just amazing too - she's one talented artist! Math is probably her least favorite, but she still works hard at it.

We have half an hour for lunch at school. I always look forward to lunchtime because that's when I get to hang out and catch up with Jenny. Her mom makes her lunch for her in the morning before school. It's usually a sandwich, an apple or some other fruit, a yogurt, and maybe a few cookies or chips. We always trade snacks though since Jenny loves the string cheese that's always in my lunch. After eating, we'll walk around outside for a bit if it's nice out or just hang out and chat in the cafeteria. The rest of the afternoon at school flies by. Once the final bell rings at 3:00pm, we head over to the bus area. About half the

kids take the bus home while the other half gets picked up by parents or walks. Jenny's little brother Max gets out of the elementary school right nearby at the same time. Their mom comes and picks both kids up together.

Once they're home, Jenny and Max have a little downtime before starting homework. They'll have a snack like apple slices and peanut butter or crackers and hummus. Then while Max starts his homework right away, Jenny likes to relax for a bit first and watch some of her favorite shows on TV or chat with friends on her phone. But don't worry, she doesn't leave her homework for too late! Jenny's a hard worker when it comes to her studies. Around 5:00pm, Jenny finally sits down to do her homework. She likes to start with the subjects she struggles with most like math so she can get those out of the way first. Then she'll move on to her easier assignments like book reports or art projects that she has a lot of fun with. If she has an especially big workload one night, her parents are really good about ordering in a pizza or making a quick meal like tacos so Jenny doesn't have to worry about cooking. But normally around 6:30pm she'll take a break to eat whatever homemade dinner her mom prepared.

After dinner, Jenny has a little more free time in the evenings before bed. Sometimes she'll go for a bike ride around the neighborhood with her brother if the weather is nice. Other nights she'll hang out with me virtually and we'll watch a movie together over Facetime. Or she may spend an hour or two just drawing, writing stories, or working on her latest art project. Jenny is super creative like that.

No matter what though, Jenny's dad enforces a strict rule that all electronics have to be turned off by 9:00pm. That means no more TV, phones, or laptops at that point. Jenny will take a shower and then start getting ready for bed around 9:30pm. She always has to read for 30 minutes before going to sleep, which I think is an awesome rule. Right now she's reading this amazing fantasy book series and she can't put the books down.

Finally, lights are out for Jenny by 10:30pm on school nights. She likes getting a full 8 hours of sleep so she can wake up feeling refreshed and recharged to take on a new day. Even though she stays pretty busy with school, homework, and her various interests, Jenny always seems to have a smile on her face. I really admire her positive attitude and ability to manage her time so well at such a young age. That's why she truly is my best friend!

My Best Friend Amy's Typical Day

I want to tell you all about my best friend Amy and what her day is usually like. Amy is 13 years old like me and we're in the same 7th grade class at Oakwood Middle School. We've been neighbors and friends since we were little kids.

Amy's morning routine starts pretty early since she has to get up at 6:15am for school. Her mom is already up making breakfast when Amy's alarm goes off. Amy's little brother Luke, who is 8 years old, is usually still asleep at that time. Amy gets dressed in her school uniform of a white polo shirt, navy blue skirt, and black flats.

For breakfast, Amy and her mom will typically have oatmeal, fruit, and orange juice. Her dad has already left for work at his accounting job downtown by the time they eat breakfast. While she eats, Amy packs her backpack for the day - putting in her completed homework assignments, textbooks, notebook, pens and pencils, calculator, water bottle, and a snack.

At 7:20am, Amy's mom drives her and Luke to school, dropping Luke off at the elementary school first. Amy gets to Oakwood at 7:40am, meeting up with me and our other friends

Hannah and Chris before the first bell rings at 7:55am. Our school day is from 8am to 3pm, with a half hour lunch period at 11:30am.

In the mornings, Amy's classes are English literature, pre-algebra, and biology. She really enjoys English and biology, but math isn't her favorite subject. After English class, we have a short 15 minute nutrition break to eat a snack before the next period starts.

Lunchtime is Amy's favorite part of the day. She buys the school lunch of a turkey sandwich, baby carrots, an apple, and a carton of low-fat milk. Amy, Hannah, Chris and I all sit together at a big round table in the cafeteria, talking and laughing about our morning so far and making plans for after school.

In the afternoons, Amy has world history, art, and P.E. Of those three, art is definitely her favorite class. Amy is a great artist and she loves painting, drawing, sculpting, pretty much any kind of artistic projects they do. I think it's because her mom is a graphic designer, so Amy grew up around art and being creative. After classes end at 3pm, a few times a week Amy will stay after school for art club, which goes until 4:30pm. On the days she doesn't have art club, Amy's dad picks her up at 3:15pm to

take her home. Luke gets out of school at 2:30pm, so he's already home with their mom in the afternoons.

When Amy gets home from school around 3:30 or 4:45pm, depending on if she had art club, the first thing she does is have an after-school snack. She'll have something like apple slices with peanut butter, yogurt, or carrots and hummus. Then she heads to her room to start on her homework for a couple of hours. Amy takes a small break around 5:30pm to have dinner with her family. Her mom is a great cook, so they tend to eat healthy meals like baked chicken with roasted veggies, whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce, or fajitas with brown rice and black beans.

After dinner around 6:30pm, if Amy doesn't have too much homework left, she'll spend some time relaxing. She might read for a little bit, work on her latest art project, or message with me and our friends on her phone. Pretty much every night though, from 7 to 8pm, Amy's parents have a \"tech-free family time\". They all put away their phones, laptops, and iPads to spend quality time together. They'll play board games, work on puzzles, or just hang out and talk in the living room.

At 8pm, Amy starts getting ready for bed. She takes a shower, brushes her teeth, and gets her backpack repacked for

the next day's school schedule. Lights are out by 9pm so Amy can get a good night's sleep before her early morning starts all over again.

On the weekends, Amy has a bit more freedom to sleep in until 9 or 10am. But she's still pretty scheduled since she has gymnastics practice from 10am to 1pm every Saturday. Then in the afternoons, if she doesn't have any homework left over, Amy and I will often make plans to go to the mall, see a movie, or just hang out together.

Sundays are Amy's true free day. She'll use that day to catch up on any remaining homework, work on art projects, read, or just relax at home with her family. Sometimes her family will go out for a hike, bike ride, or to one of our favorite restaurants for brunch.

So that's a pretty typical weekly routine for my best friend Amy! She definitely has a lot of structure with school, homework, and activities. But she also gets downtime to pursue her interests like art and just be a regular 13-year-old kid. I admire Amy's ability to attack each day and all her responsibilities in such an organized, hardworking way. At the same time, she's also just a goofy, fun-loving person who doesn't take herself too seriously. I'm lucky to have such an amazing friend!
